The Prairieaction Foundation supports action-oriented research that contributes to finding solutions to the complex reasons behind societal violence. Research tells us whether laws and policies are effective, what programs work and what responses are working.
We help connect researchers in universities with front line workers in family violence, creating the knowledge necessary to help policy makers and practitioners make decisions that will help reduce the incidence of family violence.
We are committed to finding effective ways of reducing the cycle of violence and keeping individuals safe. By working together, concerned citizens, businesses, governments, service agencies, universities and researchers can find solutions.
A $7.5 million Prairieaction endowment fund – the Legacy Fund – enables registered charities in the prairies and across Canada to participate in research leading to enhanced policy decisions and “best practices” in direct service.
